Traf_Algar

Pablo (b. 1998), also known as Traf_Algar, is a French artist originally from Guatemala who has found his artistic home in London. His practice is expressed through drawing, illustration, and sculpture. Using mediums such as oil pastels, clay, plaster, and India ink, he regards his art as a living intimate journal. Each work is a testament to his ever-evolving past, present, and future.

The past, memories, and melancholy are the pillars of his inspiration. He seeks to capture and preserve fragments of memory on paper or through materials. Profound encounters, departed individuals, as well as the imperfections of human beings, whether they manifest on their faces or in their souls, serve as constant influences.

His art serves as an outward gateway to his inner demons. He portrays these subjects through creatures that are a blend of man and monster. In his works, he creates his own reality, juggling between the real and unreal, bearing witness to an innocence that becomes fragile in the process of growth. His pieces are explosions of color and detail, tools that allow him to escape from his own life while inviting those who contemplate them to do the same. Each of his creations is a journey into a world where reality and imagination blur, offering an escape into a life far from ordinary.
