Founded by Scottish photographer and publisher David McLean in 2021, Bona Varda began as a lockdown passion project delivering queer-themed second-hand books by bike in Hackney, London. It has since evolved into a platform celebrating queer art, photography, and publishing. Our mission is simple — to uplift emerging queer voices and showcase their work in an inclusive, welcoming space. Clients include ICA London, Queer Britain, Tom of Finland Foundation and Photo London.
