Oli Raptor
Oliver Sarley (b. 1986), also known as Oli Raptor, is a London-based artist whose photography captures the essence of queer life. He boasts a significant fan base, amassing 16k followers on Instagram. Sarley's work, reflective of a "lifetime of censorship," sheds light on the experiences of marginalized communities, transcending societal restrictions. Through his alter ego, Oli Raptor, Sarley meticulously documents intimate moments with strangers, friends, and lovers, capturing the raw essence of these experiences.
His photographs defy societal norms, challenging viewers to contemplate the rich tapestry of human diversity. Sarley not only sparks dialogue but also raises awareness and advocates against censorship through his art. Notable U.S. showcases include "The Violators" in NYC and the Tom of Finland Foundation in LA. Recognition in recent publications such as Pornceptual and Crap Zine no.2 has garnered significant attention.
Oli was invited to exhibit at the Tom of Finland Art and Culture Festival in London, held in July 2023. He exhibited twice last year at the Queeriosites Art and Makers Fair in London. Notably, three artworks have recently entered the Tom of Finland permanent collection in Los Angeles. Oli has just published his inaugural artist zine, which promptly sold out.
